Mearns & Company, the Edinburgh-based employee benefits consultancy, has appointed ex Mattioli Woods and Kudos financial services director Alan Fergusson as a non-executive director.
Fergusson, who has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, will continue to head up the Beneficia employee benefits consultancy he established at the end of last year.
Fergusson was formerly employee benefits managing director at Mattioli Woods, prior to which he worked at Kudos Financial Services. After growing organically over a period of 11 years, Kudos was sold to Mattioli Woods.
He has also been a board member at Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce, and at the Worldwide Broker Network (WBN).
Mearns & Company managing director Catherine Bell says: “We believe that having Alan’s skills and experience in our team will place us in a strong position to develop both our business and our employee benefits offering, providing new corporate clients with an alternative to the larger, traditional employee benefit consultancies in Scotland. We are committed to achieving excellence and delivering outstanding results to our existing and future clients.”
Fergusson says: “I am delighted to be working with the management team at Mearns & Company who I have known for some time. The service delivery to clients is second to none, evidenced by the company achieving the coveted Gold Standard for Independent Financial Advice nine times since 2009. Their recent achievement of Investors in People Platinum accreditation demonstrates the high quality people practice standards that the company has, and shows they are well placed to provide employers with an outstanding calibre of service.”
