Freedom Health Insurance has launched a new virtual GP service for its UK-based clients.
This service, called GP24, is provided via Medical Solutions UK and is available to both SME clients, and individual policyholders at no additional cost.
This provides clients with access to remote GP services which can offer advice, diagnosis and, where appropriate, private medication and referral letters.
Online video consultations are available from 8am to 10pm seven days a week.
The GPs can issue private prescriptions which can delivered directly to the client’s home or collected from a nearby pharmacy.
If the GP feels that further investigation or treatment is required, open referral letters can also be issued enabling timely access to specialists for patients when appropriate.
Freedom Health managing director Alistair Sclare says this service is particularly important at this time, when many customers are unable to visit their own GP due to Covid-19 restrictions.
“With fast and convenient access to advice, diagnosis, medication and open referral letters, GP24 gives useful added value to policies and provides customers with the ongoing support, reassurance and peace of mind they need.”
Medical Solutions commercial director Paul Nattrass adds: “Medical Solutions is very pleased to be working with Freedom and to provide access to our service for UK health insurance policyholders.
“We believe our 24/7 GP service adds tangible value to policies and provides members with an essential service, which can be accessed at any time, regardless of whether it relates to a claim.”
