Andy Dickson will take up the newly created role of master trust strategic development director for Aegon UK.
Dickson joins from Atlas Master Trust where he was head of market strategy. Prior to this has 25 years’ experience working for Standard Life in the group’s DC corporate business and asset management arm, where he held the role of investment director.
In his new role he will be responsible for building Aegon’s footprint within the workplace DC market, with a particular focus on helping the company achieve ambitious growth targets for its master trust proposition.
Dickson will report to Martin Trenchard, director of consultant and adviser relationships at Aegon.
This is the second recent appointment made by Aegon to further the growth of its workplace pensions business. Last month it appointed Antonia Balaam to the position of director of DC clients, responsible for leading the relationships with some of the UK’s largest employers. It has also acquired engagement specialists Pension Geeks earlier this year with a view to enhancing its digital experience and propositions for both new and existing workplace clients.
Aegon managing director of workplace Linda Whorlow says: “The appointment of Andy Dickson to this newly created role marks the next strategic stage in our investment and growth plan for our workplace business, supporting our goal to become the UK’s leading workplace pension provider.
“We’ve had a fantastic year for business growth, with a number of significant new clients coming on board, and have ambitious plans to build on this success as we head into 2022.”
