Hymans Robertson has appointed Patrick Bloomfield to the role of senior actuary.
Bloomfield, a former ACA chairman, has been at Hymans Robertson since 2004, becoming a partner two years later. He has previously led the trustees DB business but in recent years has focused on pension policy, providing strategic DB and DC advice to a range of industry-leading schemes and employers.
Hymans Robertson head of pensions Richard Shackleton says: “Professionalism is core to what we stand for as a partnership and the role of senior actuary is a crucial one for our firm. In taking on these responsibilities, Patrick will be leading our approach [on this] and will continue being a positive influencer of pensions industry policy.”
Bloomfield adds said he was excited about taking on the the challenge of this role as the pensions industry moves into a digital era: “Developing pensions policy in ways that deliver the best outcomes for employers, trustees and savers is something I care deeply about.
“As senior actuary I’m looking forward to helping clients and colleagues navigate a path through the uncertain economic future with confidence.”
