XPS Pensions Group (XPS) has been appointed by Big Society Capital to advise on their treasury multi-asset portfolio.
XPS will assist Big Society Capital’s in-house investment team and provide guidance on financial issues and the continued development of the investment plan.
Impact venture capital, social lending (credit), social property, and social outcomes contracts are the four primary asset classes in which Big Society Capital invests. The company also has a broader objective to increase the amount of money spent on resolving social problems and inequities in the UK.
Over 400 clients, many of them charities and not-for-profit groups, are advised by XPS Investment. In addition to being a signatory to the UK Stewardship Code and the UNPRI, XPS Investment is part of the Net Zero Investment Consultant Initiative.
Big Society Capital investment manager Jolynn Kek says: “We wanted an adviser to our Treasury portfolio that could operate as an extension to our in-house team, and we’re delighted to have found that in XPS.
“We were very impressed by the breadth of their market insight and importantly that their values aligned with ours. XPS’s ESG and sustainability research framework complements our social impact focus and we look forward to benefitting from their market-leading expertise.”
XPS Pensions Group partner Jordan Harrison says: “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Big Society Capital. Sustainability and ESG are core to the investment advice we provide.
“We look forward to deploying our knowledge alongside one of the industry’s most respected social impact investors and further expanding our expertise outside of XPS’s traditional pension scheme focus.”
