Aon has appointed Maria Johannessen to be its new UK head of investment. She replaces Tim Giles who has left the company after 25 years.
Johannessen has been with Aon for a year, having joined in June 2022 as a senior partner. She has also been its investment client leader and investment leader for the London region.
In total she has more than 20 years’ industry experience, working in client advisory, investment banking and asset management, holding senior roles at Mercer, PwC, BlackRock and UBS Investment Bank.
In her new role, Johannessen will report to Michael Clare, Aon’s head of wealth solutions in the UK, and to Paul Rangecroft, Aon’s CEO of wealth solutions.
Clare says: “Johannessen’s depth of experience in both technical and advisory capacities have enabled her to deliver creative and innovative solutions to clients, helping them to navigate new forms of volatility and to make better decisions as they address complex challenges.”
