Despite the fact that ESG considerations failed to register at all with EBCs and advisers when asked to name their four most important factors for choosing a workplace pension provider, almost all place at least some importance on providers focusing on responsible investment issues.
Over a fifth of consultants and advisers (21 per cent) think it is essential that workplace pension scheme defaults include an ESG tilt, while 54 per cent see it as ‘nice-to-have, but not essential’. Just 2 per cent see ESG as not important.
