Aviva has appointed Jason Storah to be the new CEO of its general insurance business.
Storah is currently CEO of Aviva Canada, a role he has held for four years. His new role will see him cover Aviva’s insurance business in both the UK and Ireland, and he will report into group CEO Amanda Blanc.
Aviva has also announced that Tracy Garrad will succeed Storah as the new CEO of Aviva Canada, a role she will start in October. Garrad has held a number of senior position in the insurance and financial services industry in the UK, most recently being the CEO of Axa’s UK healthcare business (formerly Axa PPP). Garrad will become a member of Aviva’s group executive committee on joining the business.
Group CEO Amanda Blanc said both appointments will strengthen the executive management of Aviva. She adds that Storah has a “track record of running a high performing general insurance business with our Canadian operation thriving under his stewardship”.
