Aviva to offer legal advice service via group life policies

Aviva has partnered with Red Apple Law to offer access to a suite of legal services as part of its group life insurance proposition.

The services will be available to employees via their employer’s Group Life policy and to their partner or spouse and will offer free access to an online estate administration tool to help employees manage and complete practical tasks and legal duties, including tax, accounts, and probate forms, all in one place, free bereavement support with access to qualified bereavement counsellors, free access to a new legal helpline to help with life’s big moments including buying/selling a house and discounted life planning services to create Wills, Lasting Power of Attorney, and inheritance advice.

This comes after Aviva’s DigiCare+ Workplace app was made available to Group Life customers in November of last year, giving them access from day one to a variety of health and wellbeing services, including an annual finger-prick health check, a Digital GP service, mental health consultations, nutritional advice, and expert second opinions.

The Aviva Line Manager Toolkit, a Stress Helpline, Mental Health videos, and a Wellbeing library of helpful content, including guides and tools on family life and relationships, money, work, and mental and physical health conditions, are also accessible to employees through Aviva’s Group Life policies. Additionally, Get Active offers employees discounts on gym services, discounted lifestyle products, and money-saving offers at more than 3,000 health and fitness clubs.

Aviva managing director of protection Fran Bruce says: “For employees whose employers have group protection cover, knowing their loved ones will be looked after financially if they die is a great comfort, but we believe it shouldn’t stop there. We believe group life insurance can help them in their life right now.

“As many of life’s bigger decisions tend to be complicated ones, we have expanded our services to give employees access to legal support when they need it. This is in addition to us giving Group Life customers access to the Aviva DigiCare+ Workplace app last year, meaning that these and the other wellbeing services are there to be used every day, not just at the point of claim.”
