Bupa UK Insurance has introduced a new suite of preventative and proactive wellbeing products and services to all its health insurance customers.

Bupa customers will have access to a variety of online health and wellness services through the Bupa Touch app. Among these services are 1,500 virtual fitness courses, wellness resources, mindfulness sessions, and exercise regimens like yoga, pilates, and HIIT.

This initiative is part of Bupa’s “prevention revolution” effort, which Bupa says aims to empower people to take charge of their health and promote healthy habits.

Currently, these services include Family Mental Health and Menopause HealthLines, Anytime HealthLine for 24/7 nurse consultations, and popular mental health benefits such as counselling services at 24 per cent and mental health apps at 23 per cent, as per insights from the Bupa Wellbeing Index.

Customers can expand coverage through Bupa Health Clinics’ Well Health services, encompassing men’s sexual function plans, nutrition health, face-to-face GP consultations, enhanced cancer screening, menopause plans, and fertility checks.

Bupa UK Insurance medical director Dr Robin Clark says: “The future of healthcare is prevention. There’s a huge shift towards proactive healthcare strategies and a focus on wellbeing tools to reduce health issues first arising. Whether its managing stress, addressing mental health concerns or tackling musculoskeletal problems, people should be able to access support before problems escalate. It’s often small steps that can make a big difference when it comes to health and wellbeing.”

Bupa UK Insurancs CEO Alex Perry: “Developing benefits to promote health and wellbeing alongside traditional health insurance benefits has become increasingly important to our customers. Our expanding suite of proactive health services will make it easier for people to stay on top of their everyday health, to help people live longer, healthier happier lives.”
