Franklin Templeton has appointed Matt Harrison as head of Europe & UK distribution, Tariq Ahmad as head of APAC distribution, Sandeep Singh as head of CEEMEA & India distribution and Julian Ide as vice chair, of EMEA.

Harrison previously served as Franklin Templeton’s Sydney-based Co-Head of APAC. He held roles at a number of companies before joining the company in 2018, including Colonial First State, Commonwealth Bank, and ING. He will be in charge of creating the business’ distribution plan and growing our operations in this crucial area. He will begin receiving reports from the distribution leaders in Europe and the UK.

Ahmad’s responsibilities have increased, and he is now the only person in charge of APAC distribution, reporting to Spector. In order to best serve the firm’s clients in this crucial region for Franklin Templeton’s worldwide expansion goal, Ahmad will now be responsible for owning and owning the APAC strategy. Singapore-based Ahmad has more than 20 years of expertise in the asset management sector and formerly served as Co-Head of APAC Distribution.

Singh oversaw the management and growth of the company’s institutional and retail business in Central & Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (CEEMEA). Singh’s duties in his new position will be expanded to include managing the Indian market. Singh has more than 25 years of expertise in the asset management sector and has previously held a number of executive positions within the company in Malaysia and India.

Harrison and Singh both assume the distribution responsibilities formerly held by Julian Ide, the former vice chair of EMEA who now reports to president and CEO Jenny Johnson. Ide was the former head of EMEA distribution. Ide will interact with key decision-makers at the biggest international financial institutions in EMEA as part of his new position to foster enduring relationships that will be advantageous to both parties.

Franklin Templeton EVP and head of global distribution Adam Spector says: “Over the last several years, we have been purposefully transforming and strategically expanding our firm. In crucial markets including UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia-Pacific (APAC), we have made significant strides in growing our distribution channels. Building on this momentum, it is important for us to evolve our leadership talent as we focus on delivering long- term value to our clients.”

Spector adds: “Harrison, Singh and Ahmad are seasoned and proven leaders and I am thrilled to work closely with them to further expand our distribution footprint at this exciting time. In addition, I would like to thank Julian for his efforts and dedication as Head of EMEA distribution and look forward to partnering with him in his new role as Vice Chair EMEA.”
