Hartley Pensions Limited, which entered administration in July, has been targeted in a possible scam.
According to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), consumers have been receiving calls and emails which seem to represent Hartley but it is in fact a possible scam.
The FCA says that any communication coming from this email or phone number has not been authorised by Hartley or the joint administrators and may be a scam.
Peter Kubik and Brian Johnson, both from UHY Hacker Young LLP, were chosen as joint administrators in July. They have advised members not to participate in any communication and to report it.
The FCA asked Hartley Pensions to enter an insolvency process in the interest of clients last year as a result of major operational, financial, and regulatory issues. Following expert advice, the firm’s director then concluded that the company was insolvent and moved to put it into administration.
