Independent Governance Group (IGG) has made some significant hires, adding twelve new members to the team including two trustee directors and two trustee managers.
Catherine Edmondson and Debra Soper join IGG as trustee directors, while Gordon Dingwall and Alistair Matthew join as trustee managers and a further eight join the business in a variety of roles.
Edmondson has over 20 years of experience in pensions, originally training as an actuary before turning to professional trusteeship. Edmondson’s experience is varied, enabling her to bring a fresh perspective. She joins IGG from MHM Trustees where she held a variety of roles, including trustee chair and chair of sub-committees.
Soper joins IGG having spent more than 30 years in the pensions industry across both the private and public sectors. Soper has worked with major listed businesses including Accenture and Pearson, as well as heading up pensions and HR at the Cabinet Office and, most recently, was pensions director at Capita Pensions Solutions.
Dingwall joins IGG from Dalriada, having previously worked at WTW, Civica and Eversheds, while Matthew joins IGG having spent more than 16 years at Barnett Waddingham.
IGG trustee director Catherine Edmondson says: “I’m excited to be joining the industry-leading team at IGG. As we’ve seen with the Autumn Statement, the pensions industry will be at the forefront of the economy over the coming months, and I’m looking forward to getting to know the team and working to deliver optimal results for schemes and their members.”
IGG trustee director Debra Soper says: “I’m pleased to bring more than 30 years’ experience to the team at IGG. I’m looking forward to supporting trustee boards, utilising my knowledge and expertise from managing and administering some of the largest schemes in the country. I’m also excited to share the knowledge I’ve gained from my time in the public and private sectors with the wider team.”
IGG chief executive officer Andrew Bradshaw says: “One of the best things about my role as CEO is seeing the business continue to grow and thrive as we welcome new joiners to the team. People are our priority and we’ve dedicated ourselves to developing a team which delivers the very best. Our latest recruits are a testament to that continuing commitment.”
