K3 Advisory has appointed John Mayer as a senior actuarial consultant.

John joined K3 from Isio; before that, he worked for KPMG and PwC. He has 25 years of experience as a licensed actuary dealing with trustees and many different companies, including those who participate in local government pension schemes. This appointment follows that of Andrea Mendham last month who joined as a partner.

K3 Managing Director Adam Davis says: “The transaction market is thriving, particularly for small schemes. Over the last five years, K3 has been at the helm of this and, as such, we continue to invest in the best people the market has to offer.  We have always recruited a team with a blend of both insurer expertise and pension advisory knowledge, having experienced professionals who possess a deep understanding of both insurance and pensions has been key to our success.

“With an extensive tenure as a pension’s actuary, John’s wealth of knowledge will add significant value. As Senior Actuarial Consultant, he will play a critical role in leading transactions, offering expert advice to both Trustees and sponsors and will enable us to continue to achieve the very best result for schemes and their members. We are delighted to welcome him on board.”

Mayer adds: “K3 has made remarkable progress since inception, showcasing an exceptional ability to navigate intricate challenges and seamlessly guide schemes through their de-risking transactions. They have clearly demonstrated the need that exists in the market for small scheme solutions. I am looking forward to being a part of this talented team and am eager to leverage my skills and experience in contributing to the outstanding service they are offering to their clients and the market at large.”
