LCP has appointed experts Amlan Roy and Mark Watts to its investment team.

Watts who has experience serving on various boards including executive and non-executive positions, led the FCA’s DB and DC Pension Plan Risk and Audit Committee and the Responsible Investment Working Group.

He advised clients like pension funds, Sovereign Wealth Funds, Central Banks, Insurance companies, and Family Offices. He’s also a non-executive director and has advised tech companies on growth.

Watts will support investment clients in the UK and globally, focusing on guiding them through the energy transition and smart capital use in his role as LCP partner. He’ll work closely with LCP Delta, the energy team.

Roy was previously at State Street Global Advisors and Credit Suisse. His affiliations include London School of Economics and LBS Finance Department. He’s now a senior advisor at LCP, concentrating on sovereign wealth funds, public pension funds, and central bank clients.

He has almost four decades of expertise in Global Macro, spanning investment banking, asset management, academia, and policymaking. He advised over 50 countries’ institutional clients and is an international keynote speaker.

Watts says: “I am excited to be joining LCP at this critical time. Asset owners will need expert support if they are to navigate the complex world of the energy transition. LCP is uniquely placed to offer that support, drawing on both its well-regarded investment team and the deep expertise of our energy consultancy.”

Roy says: “I am looking forward to bringing my knowledge and global client connectivity to help develop LCP’s offering in the sovereign wealth space and beyond. LCP isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo, and is looking to develop high-impact and thought-provoking content.”

LCP head of investment team Zuhair Mohammed says: “The interplay of ageing populations, rapid technological progress, and the ever-pressing realities of climate change have forged a formidable set of challenges on the global economic stage. Within this dynamic context, the diverse skillsets brought by Mark and Amlan stand as invaluable assets. Collaborating with our 170-strong investment team, they are primed to skilfully steer our clients through these megatrends.”
