Group risk provider Pulse Insurance has joined the trade body Group Risk Development (Grid).

Pulse Insurance specialises in providing cover from SME clients, offering life insurance, travel cover and other specialist insurances. These can be tailored to clients with more complex needs, for example specific working conditions or locations.

Pulse Insurance chairman Paul Sandilands says: ““We’ve made the decision to join Grid at this time because we want to be part of a collaborative approach.

“The group risk insurance industry is becoming increasingly agile and innovative which is enabling more companies to obtain appropriate cover for their staff but there is still more that can be done.

“This is particularly so in promoting the availability of cover for businesses that have staff in Europe, with the UK leaving the EU, which presents an opportunity. Via Grid, we look forward to working together with some of the industry’s leading figures to support our own clients and the SME community as a whole.”

Pulse Insurance has also recently appointed Sue Clark as an life underwriting expert. This will enable the company to quote and bind rapidly on a wide range of risk.

Grid chair Steve Bridger adds: “Pulse Insurance’s contribution will be hugely welcomed as we look to create wider awareness of the benefits of group risk insurance, particularly among smaller businesses. Pulse has at-the-coal-face experience of discussing insurance issues with particular audiences and this will also help inform the group.”
