Peaple steps back from role at PLSA

Nigel Peaple is stepping back from his work as director of policy and advocacy at The Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (PLSA).

Peaple, who has worked at the PLSA for the last eight years, will take on a part-time role as chief policy counsel.

Peaple has been PLSA’s director of policy and advocacy for six years, and has also been a member of the PLSA board. Prior to this he also worked as director of policy for the trade body in the noughties, when it was known as the National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF).

In his new role as counsel he will continue to provide policy advice to the PLSA’s chief executive, to the chairs of the policy board and policy committees, and to the in-coming director of policy & advocacy. He will also undertake an advocacy role on the PLSA’s key priority projects this year, in which a General Election is expected to be held.

PLSA chief executive Julian Mund says: “During two stints at the PLSA, [Peaple] has served us, and our members, with dedication for 13 years. He has made an immeasurable contribution to developing pensions policy during that time. On one hand, we will miss the energy and commitment he brings to his day-to-day duties, but on the other, I am very pleased that he has agreed to stay on in an advisory role in a pivotal year for pensions.”

PLSA director of policy & advocacy Nigel Peaple says: “I have thoroughly enjoyed working full time, and full on, as the policy director at the PLSA but, as I approach a significant birthday, I am ready to shift down a gear. I am looking forward to taking on this new role and in supporting the PLSA in being the voice of workplace pensions and savings and advocating for the best outcomes for savers.”
