Income protection provider PG Mutual has partnered with Medical Solutions to offer a virtual GP services to all its members.
This will be available at not extra cost, and can be used by policyholders’ dependents. It provides unlimited 24-hour access to a GP by phone for diagnosis and advice, as well as private prescriptions and referral letters which are available via its app.
Online video consultations with a GP will be available between 8am and 10pm, seven days a week.
In addition, members and their dependents will have access to Medi-SMART, Medical Solutions’ clinical pharmacist support line.
Medical Solutions commercial director Paul Nattrass says: “We believe our GP service and Medi-SMARTprovide a tangible benefit for policyholders, so we are very pleased to be working with PG Mutual to make both services available.
“Accessing healthcare can be challenging for those working from home or limiting their movement due to the situation with Covid-19 so this provides the support and reassurance many people need during these testing times and beyond.”
PG Mutual’s CEO Mike Perry adds: “At PG Mutual we provide income protection with the addition of profit-share. In these worrying times, we wanted to ensure that members and their dependents could access a specialist private GP service whenever they needed to, wherever they are.”
He points out that Medical Solutions have been providing remote GP services for over 20 years.
