The Pensions Management Institute (PMI) is expanding its mentoring and development programme, which will pair 50 mentors up with those working in the pensions industry in 2021.
This programme builds on an smaller pilot, and will be delivered in conjunction with the Institute of Leadership and Management and sponsored by The People’s Pension.
This mentoring and development programme will run for 12 months from March this year, and see individuals assigned to mentors based on their profile and development needs. Meetings will take place at least once every two months, and mentees will be required to complete the Institute of Leadership & Management MyLeadership Programme.
Initially 20 mentees and 20 mentors took part in the pilot.
PMI chief executive Gareth Tancred says this programme aims to improve standards and knowledge in the pensions industry. “We hope that this support and learning framework will provide many individuals the opportunity to develop new skills and knowledge as well as the chance to engage with someone beyond their immediate professional network, aiding their professional career development.”
B&CE chief sales and marketing officer Roy Porter adds: “We’re delighted to be once again supporting the PMI’s mentoring and development programme which has proven to be a real success.
“This is a scheme that aims at not only maintaining the highest industry standards, but helps knowledge transfer and encourages collaboration within the sector.”
Those wanting to join the programme can find more information from the PMI. Applications close on 5 February 2021.
