Scottish Widows is appointing former chief executive of The Pensions Regulator, Charles Counsell OBE, to its Independent Governance Committee (IGC).
Counsel is a former Chief Executive of the Money Advice Service and worked closely with the Department for Work and Pensions to deliver pensions automatic enrolment in a previous role as TPR’s Executive Director for Auto Enrolment.
Anna Bradley, independent chair of the Scottish Widows IGC, says: “Charles has extensive expertise in policy and pensions reform and will bring a new dimension to the IGC discussions. This will help us in our work with Scottish Widows to deliver value for members. We are very excited to have him on board, particularly during a period of considerable public policy activity in pensions.”
Counsel says: “Following the successful introduction of Automatic Enrolment, delivering value for money for pensions savers is vitally important. I’m looking forward to working with the Scottish Widows IGC and playing my part to help ensure savers receive good outcomes and value for money for their pension savings.”
