XPS Pensions Group has appointed Paul Armitage as the new head for its master trust, The National Pension Trust.
Armitage, who was formerly head of distribution at NPT replaces Dave Hodges who retired earlier this year.
Armitage says: “Master trusts have a critical role to play in the DC landscape. It’s a really exciting time to take on this role and to build on our excellent growth story.”
The National Pension Trust offers members full access to retirement freedoms. Armitage says the trust aims to build on its track record of providing market leading member engagement, an excellent investment track record and low levels of member charge.
XPS Pensions Group co-CEO Ben Bramhall says: “I am delighted that Paul will lead NPT – our market leading master trust – as this is a key area for XPS and the future of the pensions industry.
“We believe master trusts and NPT in particular will play a vital role in the future of pension provision, offering schemes and their members the well-governed, low-cost options that so many need. “
NPT provides benefits for over 46,000 members with assets under management of over £750m.
